Several days into our visits with Alina, what initially were doubts we hoped would disappear, still remained, as she was not seeming to make the progress our doctor told us to look for. The doctors stateside were only able to assist us so far (partially because the videos we took of Alina couldn't be uploaded to their site)so we ended up having to make the difficult decision to ask to see other children.
We relay this sad news in our blog because, while hopefully our adoption story will have a happy ending, it's important people realize that this entire process (from trying to have children on our own, to numerous infertility treatments, to international adoption is, at times, heart wrenching).
